Maestros

Loukas Balokas & Georgia Priskou

They went to their first tango class in 2000. Since then and until today their life is bound to dance. They have been constantly working with some of the most important tango teachers and staying in Buenos Aires for a long time played a leading role in their dancing culture and evolution. After years of practicing and exploring the fields of improvisation and choreography, they have developed their personal style. The characteristics of their dance are the musicality, speed, alterations in the dynamic of the movement and the intense dramatic elements. They love toying with the classical as well as the modern form mixing them. Their teaching is based on the understanding of the basic dancing elements, trying to provide their students the necessary tools to create their own dance through an entertaining method.

They are considered to be one of the couples main responsible for the distribution and establishment of the tango scene around Greece. Georgia is also one of the first Greek tango Djs , still playing music in several milongas and festivals. For many years they have been teaching in the major Greek cities, still maintaining their regular student basis in their dance studio in Athens (Tangofix). They have been also working around Europe performing and teaching in workshops and important tango festivals. Additionally they have taken part and produced dance theater performances in: Badminton Theater, Ivi, Acropol, Katia Dandoulaki and more.

Naima Gerasopoulou & Lucas Gauto

They started dancing together in 2015 in Argentina. In 2019 they took part in the Tango World Championship in Buenos Aires and took the 4th place in the Tango Salon category. Their dance and workshops are based on a deep understanding of the technique and use of the body in each movement as well as on creating respect for Argentinean tango culture and traditions.

Naima Gerasopoulou started dancing at a very young age, initially with classical ballet and rhythmic gymnastics while she was also involved with other kind of dances. But when she got to know the tango, she was dedicated to it. In 2014 she won the 1st place in the Tango Acropolis de pista category. Since then she has participated in many Greek and International Festivals next to famous tango maestros.

Lucas Gauto started dancing Tango at the age of 12 in Argentina. He has won 3rd place at Tango World Championship in Buenos Aires in Tango de Pista category.

He had been tango teacher in Buenos Aires and Cordoba schools while has performed at major milongas in Buenos Aires as well as at Argentine and European Festivals along with major Argentinean dancers and maestros.

Serhat Onuk and Berna Kulahci

Serhat Onuk and Berna Kulahci took their first Tango steps in 2003. They started dancing together in 2011 and they are one of the best rare couples in Turkey who can combine the essences of Tango Salon and Tango Escenario in their performances. They teach and perform at international events all over Turkey and several events in Europe. For Serhat and Berna the key to success is never to stop learning. Mario Morales, who is one of the best choreographers in Buenos Aires and Dimitri Vasin&Sagdiana Hamzina, are the inspiring maestros, choreographers and  in fact their mentors in Escenario category. They love to combine technique and knowledge with hard work!

George Linardatos & Maria Chatzikonstantoglou

George and Maria are tango teachers and owners of El Conventillo tango studio in Patra. They teach tango since 2010, while George used to teach at Tangart dance school in Athens. Nowadays they travel all over big cities in Greece to run workshops and shows! They have attended several seminars in Greece, Cyprus, Italy and Argentina with the greatest maestros worldwide such as Leonardo Cuello, Fabian Salas & Lola Diaz , Sebastian Jimenez & Nadia Johnson, Sebastian Arce & Mariana Montes and Geraldine Rojas. Moreover both have participated in several theater tango performances with famous tango orchestras like Franco Luciani, Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi & Orchestra Camerata Fiorentina. They have been hosted by tango festivals mostly in Athens, Patra and of course Chios Tango Encuentro! Their energy, dynamics, creativity and passion are so remarkable, one of a kind couple!
